Since the FS Trenitalia ETR 610 is currently being repainted in a new eC color scheme, I took the opportunity to photograph this ETR 610 003 in the "old" colors once again at the departure in Genève as an EC to Domodossola, despite borderline lighting conditions.

The magnificent BB 22391 of the meanwhile rather rarely seen SNCF locomotive class BB 22200 is at Vernier with its TER 96605 on the journey from Grenoble to Genève. The attractive subject was worth two photos to me, here is the version with the locomotive dominating the image.

The magnificent BB 22391 of the SNCF locomotive class BB 22200, which has become rather rare to see in the meantime, is at Vernier with its TER 96605 on the journey from Grenoble to Genève. The lovely scene was worth two photos to me; here is the version with a bit more landscape.

In the extensive (freight) track facilities that stretch far over Vernier and Zimeysa of the SBB Cargo station Vernier Meyrin, the SBB Am 843 069-6 is in operation. The diesel locomotive picked up five freight cars at Vernier and is now driving over the industrial track towards the SBB Cargo station Vernier Meyrin. Contrary to the first impression, the line here is not triple-track, but only double-track; the track on the right in the picture is, as mentioned, an industrial track.

The RhB Bernina Express RABe 4/4 I No. 35 is in Blonay with the Riviera Belle Epoque on the return journey to Chaulin. From Vevey to Blonay, the train can be used by passengers; from Blonay onwards, the train runs as empty stock to Chaulin, as the museum is closed at this time.

The SBB RABe Flirt 522 209, operating as TER 18169 (or RE56 18169 from Delle), arrives at Grandvillars station on its journey from Meroux to Biel/Bienne. Once again in the eventful history of the Delle - Belfort line, a new chapter will begin with the timetable change in December 2025: SNCF multiple units will take over service almost hourly; connections will no longer be interrupted in Meroux; however, international passengers will need to change trains in Delle. Once again, the futuristic shape of the model of this attractive Japanese high-speed train on my small (still unfinished) N-scale layout..

A Japanese high-speed train on my N scale layout. I set up this model for a few pictures this afternoon. The metal-made train has an interesting function at the SBB: it regulates short breaks in our travel center, following the English "staff block system," meaning whoever has the train is allowed to take the short break. This simple method prevents more than one person from being on break at the same time, ensuring customers do not have to wait unnecessarily.

The SBB Re 460 028 (Re 460 91 85 4 460 028-4 CH-SBB) sports the attractive advertising decoration "Swiss Hiking Trails," here once again but with the focus on the side panel, which is designed like a signpost.
The locomotive is traveling with IR 90 1819 from Genève Aéroport to Brig and was photographed again in Lausanne.

The SBB Re 460 028 (Re 460 91 85 4 460 028-4 CH-SBB) sports the attractive advertising livery "Swiss Hiking Trails," although the locomotive probably looks even better with the yellow front. After having already photographed the locomotive on the trip to Geneva, it was not difficult to identify the return service as IR 90 1819 and photograph the locomotive again, with the side wall coming into better view here.

The SBB RABe 522 206 is traveling as Mobigo TER 18173 / RE 56 18173 from Meroux to Biel/Bienne. The Flirt has arrived in Delle, where it switches systems from "SNCF" to "SBB-CFF" and has a three-minute stop for this, just enough time to quickly take a few pictures. This image shows, besides the mentioned RABe 522 206, also the SNCF X73757 standing here in the background. Thus, diesel vehicles are also (again) used on the electrified Delle - Belfort line. The SNCF X 73757 "Baleine" arrived in Delle as MOBIGO TER 895005 from Belfort at 8:19 and will return to Belfort as MOBIGO TER 895004 at 14:41. November 3, 2025

On the boat trip from Vevey to Lausanne, you are presented with magnificent views of Lavaux; probably one of the most beautiful spots is the town of St Saphorin, on the lake, right in the middle of the vineyards. Four tracks, three routes, two power systems, and one train – between St-Jean and Genève, the SBB LEX RABe 522 228 is operating as RL5 23042 on the journey from Genève to La Plaine.
The train runs on the track remaining after the construction of the line to Genève Aéroport, which is designed according to SNCF standards and thus electrified with AC 25,000 volts 50 hertz. To the right of it run the two tracks of the double track to and from Genève Aéroport, and on the far left in the picture is the track to Annemasse. These three tracks are electrified with SBB 16,000 volts 2/3 hertz. The second track from the right is also used by trains to Annemasse up to the St-Jean junction, which probably explains why right-hand traffic prevails on the line to Annemasse.
