At St-Gervais, the narrow-gauge SNCF Z 850 052 unit awaits departure for Montroc-le-Planet. The onward journey to Vallorcine could not take place due to weather conditions (snow and avalanches).
The image also shows how the standard-gauge tracks are spanned by a simple overhead contact line, while the narrow-gauge railway is electrified via a third rail.

Near Ligerz, on the last single-track section of the Jura Foot Line, SBB Re 4/4 11346 (Re 420 346-9) is heading toward Neuchâtel.
Both the locomotive and this stretch of line are likely to become a thing of the past in the foreseeable future—reason enough to capture as many impressions as possible here at the uniquely positioned kilometer marker 94.4.

The Locomotive 193 074, leased by SBB Cargo, fills much of the frame as it hauls a long freight train near Ligerz at kilometer 94.5. The train is traveling in the direction of Biel/Bienne. Despite the train’s dominance in the scene, there was still room for the well-known church of Ligerz to be included in the shot. August 24, 2026

Blonay - Chamby - La Der 2026 - 60 après les CEV (marking the end of the season for the Blonay–Chamby Railway, 60 years after the closure of the CEV line).

Operating as the Biniou Express (BEX) under train number 30115, the Dm 2/2 railcar No. 3 arrives at Chamby station on track 31. While it is, in all likelihood, the shortest passenger train in the world, it still manages to accommodate a fair number of travelers—so many, in fact, that I couldn't manage to count them all while also taking photographs; I would estimate there were at least a dozen people on board.

125 Years of the MOB – The MOB railcar: the ABDe 8/8! Naturally, it had to be part of the anniversary celebrations. There is an unconfirmed rumor that this railcar will be fully restored for the 150th-anniversary celebrations. At present, the ABDe 8/8 4001 SUISSE —which has been stabled in Lenk for some time—is still in working order, but it is no longer permitted to carry passengers.
Upon closer inspection (although not visible in the photo), this beautiful railcar is in need of a major overhaul at the Chernex workshops; however, there are still a few years left until the MOB’s 150th anniversary...

125 years of the MOB—and the fulfillment of a long-held dream: a direct connection between Montreux and Interlaken! On the right in the image is the FZe 6/6 2002; ordered in 1931 and arriving in 1932—right in the midst of the Great Depression—it may have technically arrived too late, yet it perfectly embodies the MOB’s philosophy: to be different from the rest!
125 years of the MOB: I wish the MOB all the best, and may it once again demonstrate that seasoned, reliable service—a quality that has been sorely missed in recent years.

125 years of the MOB – to mark the occasion, the MOB’s Ge 4/4 8002 locomotive has been given a special livery (or rather, a vinyl wrap). While I personally like it, it does raise the question of whether a modern railway shouldn’t have opted for a somewhat more innovative promotional design.
The Ge 4/4 8002 has arrived in Zweisimmen with its GPX Montreux–Interlaken service and is now being shunted onto a siding, as the train will be taken over by a BLS Re 465 locomotive for the remainder of the journey.
