"Bella Italia" in the middle of Spain and very quickly: the IRYO ETR 400 flies from Madrid at around 300 km/h to Barcelona via the high-speed line near Bujaraloz (Spain). This is the IRYO Service 6011.
The picture shows the high-speed route at kilometer 370.5 (from Madrid) in the flat country, as we commonly imagine Spain, but interestingly, the route into the Sierre Ministra at kilometer 152.7 reaches a height of 1217 m above sea level, making it the highest high-speed route Europe!

One of the three-phase HG 2/2 trains reaches the "valley station" at the Col de Saint-Ignace pass at 198 m above sea level in Kärze. There I asked a train driver what the locomotive was called - "locomotive", was the answer: He 2/2 or something similar only made me shake my head. Internet research revealed that the He 2/2 1 - 4 were built in 1914 by the SLM and BBC under the factory number 2428 - 2431; they came into operation when the railway opened in 1924. The He 2/2 3 locomotive was with the He 2/2 3 from 1938 Luchon Superbagnères cable car in use. Today six of seven locomotives are in use on the Chemin de La Rhune, as after the closure of the Luchon Superbagnères mountain railway, the He 2/2 built by SLM with the serial numbers 2233 -2235 came to the Chemin de La Rhune, with the H 2 /2 4 accidents. The little train of the Chemin de Fer de la Rhune with the He 2/2 in the magnificent landscape of La Rhune. The peak is not very high (905 meters above sea level), but it is detached and therefore offers fantastic views. The mountain ridge also forms the border with Spain.

On the TGV route Paris - Lyon (or LGV 752000) at kilometer 257.7 is the TGV Rame 804 and another TGV Duplex heading south. It is not possible to determine with certainty which TGV connection it is. I assume that it is the TGV 9113/6033 from Paris to Barcelona Sants/Perpignan. On this section of the route near Saint Émiland the speed is limited to km/h 270; km/h 300 is only permitted again at km 254.6 in the north and from km 336.3 in the south.

Work to renovate the Baye de Clarens Viaduct is progressing quickly. In addition to the museum trains on the Blonay-Chamby Railway, MOB service trains from Chamby to the CEV also use the route. Another professional bridge is currently being installed over the actual bridge so that traffic does not have to be interrupted. This procedure has already been used successfully at the RhB.

The FS Trenitalia ETR 400 031 arrived in Lyon Perrache under the mighty hall as Frecciarossa FR 6647 at 11:48 and will remain right here until the return journey to Paris as FR 6654 at 1:11 p.m. Basically enough time to take photos of the beautiful train; But the elegant ETR 400 031 wasn't quite as simple as desired. After all, taking photos is very pleasant in the "more comfortable" train station of Lyon Perrache, in contrast to the hectic train station of Lyon Part Dieu.

A few trains were also transported with electric traction and the FZe 6/6 2002 and the Ge 4/4 81 were mainly used. The picture shown here shows the Bernina Bahn Ge 4/4 81 de Blonay Chamby Bahn on the journey from Blonay to Chamby just before Cornaux. Worth noting, even if only as a detail, are the new wooden catenary masts on the Cornaux - Tunnle Baye de Clarens section and the new tracks on this section. May 20, 2024

So the beautifully restored MOB FZe 6/6 2002 of the Blonay - Chamby Railway with its passenger train to Chaulin is almost only a "decoration" of this picture.
