VSM 64 415 calls at Dieren with the 20+ late first steam shuttle train for the steam bonanza Terug naar Toen on 3 September 2023. A much more massive engine was planned for this haul, but she decided to have no urge to do something and the Bubikopf 64 415 had to deputise at last moment's  notice.

VSM newby 41 241 runs round at Dieren on 3 September to haul one coach back to Beekbergen. THis engine was in the posession of Dampflok-Tradition Oberhausen. Due to lack of room, the Oberhauseners decided to store 41 241 at the SSN in Rotterdam Noord Goederen. The SSN however, has no line of her own and a constant feature of her history is the Sword of Damocles in the guise of expansion plans for domestic environments, forcing the SSN to relocate a few times lock, stock and barrel. In 2015 VSM bought 41 241 from the Germans and started to restore her directly in operational condition. With succes: shortly before the September festival Terug naar Toen the loco had concluded test rides.

In July 2016 I found a photo location north of Faido, just above the Broscerina Tunnel with a view of the 103 meter long Polmengo Bridge. When I visited the photo location again this year, I went one step further, more precisely, to an abandoned  guardian's house  just before the upper portal of the 1567 meter long Pratotunnel, which, as a 360 ° circular tunnel, overcomes a height difference of a good 40 meters. The picture shows the IC 10667 that is traveling from Basel SBB to Lugano and will reach the Prato circular tunnel immediately behind my back. I was able to photograph the two SBB Giruno RABe 501s again a good two minutes later on the Polmengo Bridge (see image ID 50365). It is precisely experiences like these that make the Gotthard Railway so attractive.

Train drivers and travelers enjoy the journey over the Gotthard Railway  Panorama  route on their journey to the south. The two SBB Giruno RABe 501 008  Monte Ceneri  and 006  Kt. Obwalden  were traveling from Zurich to Milano as EC 10315 when I was able to photograph the long train in Faido. A written confirmation from the locomotive driver is available, and a big thank you to Silvio for the information about the Giruno vehicle numbers.

“Le Chablais en fête” at the Blonay Chamby train. The opening of the first section of the Bex - Villars 125 years ago, as well as the merger that took place on some routes in the Chablais 80 years ago, was the reason for this year's autumn festival  Le Chablais en fête . A special attraction is the ASD BCFe 4/4 N° 1 “TransOrmonan” from TPC with its B 35 as a guest vehicle.

There was a big and well-organized surprise in Chamby this morning: The picture shows the ASD BCFe 4/4 N° 1, built in 1913 and converted in 1940, on the journey from Blonay to Chaulin and the two MOB BCFe 4/4 N° 11 (built in 109) and DZe 6/6 2002 (built in 1932) both today at the Blonay-Chamby Bahn in a fine vehicle parade.

From Torino to Ivrea he uses the catenary, from Ivrea it is diesel.

Since the MOB GDe 4/4 are no longer used in scheduled passenger train services, pictures of these locomotives are no longer so easy to obtain. I was all the more pleased when she discovered the GDe 4/4 6002 in Rossinière with a short freight train. The locomotive pushed the cars and was heading towards Montreux.

The TPF RABe 560 269-3 (94 85 7 560 269-3 CH-SBB) traveling from Bulle to Broc Fabrique as Regio Express RE 4046. The route has hardly changed due to the gauge change, but a kind of  guardrail  separates the standard gauge route from the parallel road.

At first glance, Faido train station appears as it did before the GTB went into operation, but upon closer inspection you can see a  wrapped  exit signal on platform 1. Tracks 1 and 4 are no longer in use, the switches are screwed and the contact line is grounded.

In July 2016 I found this photo location north of Faido, a little above the Broscerina Tunnel with a view of the 103 meter long Polmengo Bridge, which bridges the Ticino River here. But the joy didn't last long, the opening of the Gotthard Bassis Tunnel was imminent and the journey was too long for me for a  measly  TILO Flirt that only runs every hour. But with the unfortunate derailment of a few freight cars a few kilometers from here, but deep under the mountain, traffic on the  Panorama  route begins to pick up again for a few weeks and I drove to Faido: In the picture is a SBB  Giruno  RABe 501 on the way to Lugano.
