"Le Chablais en fête" at the Blonay Chamby railway. The opening of the first section of the Bex - Villars 125 years ago, as well as the merger of some routes in the Chablais 80 years ago, was the reason for this year's autumn festival "Le Chablais en fête". The ASD BCFe 4/4 N° 1 is a special attraction "TransOrmonan" of the TPC with its B 35 as a guest vehicle.

The picture shows the BCFe 4/4 N° 1, built in 1913 and converted in 1940, shunting in Blonay.

Since ancient times, the Magadino Plain has been a fertile landscape until a landslide devastated the area in 1515. With the construction of the railway to Locarno at the end of the 19th century, the swampy landscape was drained and the Ticino River was straightened. For this purpose, the Consorzio Correzione del Fiume Ticino received this small G 2/2 Bn2t locomotive. The locomotive was built by Arnold Jung in Jungenthal near Kirchen in 1889 under factory number 59. In 1941, the locomotive was taken out of service and on May 20, 2016, it was loaned by the Travani family to Martin Horath. Since September 3, 2016, the locomotive has been running again. The small locomotive offered cab rides for enthusiasts in Brienz. Even though the locomotive does not shine as beautifully as the SNCF 141 R 1244, I like it very much, as it was the very first time I was able to ride on a steam locomotive. Now I saw the small locomotive again in Chaulin, where it took over shunting duties during the steam festival and, as shown in this picture, is being supplied with water and wood in the Chaulin locomotive servicing area. Swiss Steam Festival / Schweizer Dampffestival 2026 - Although I am now fortunate enough to be able to visit the Festival Suisse de la vapeur more often, one might think that the subjects would eventually run out. But as this picture shows, that is not the case. In this instance, it is due to the visit of the G 2/2 TICINO! In my opinion, the A 3/5 may be one of the most beautiful steam locomotives, but the G 2/2 TICINO has truly grown on me, especially since I was able to ride in the cab of the G 2/2 TICINO for the first time in 2018. I was all the more delighted that the G 2/2 TICINO is enriching this year’s steam festival. After initially thinking that it would be hardly possible to photograph the locomotive in the crowd, this opportunity presented itself: The little TICINO is being supplied with coal/wood and water in the locomotive servicing facility at Chaulin to take on shunting duties again at the museum station.
