Not only the railway facilities, but also the surroundings of Renens VD station have been completely redesigned in recent years. And now I have discovered that right next to the tracks there is a new footpath that offers a good view of the station head towards Lausanne.
In the picture, an IR 90 heading towards Genève and an SBB ICN RABe 500 as IC 5 from Romanshorn to Lausanne.

The IRSI/IGE "Rheingold" Re 4/4 II 11387 (Re 421 387-2) coming from Morges leaves the line to Genève in Gland and runs over an industrial track towards the gravel plant to pick up its train to Apples there. The leased IRSI/IGE Re 4/4 II 11387 (Re 421 387-2) replaces the BAM MBC Re 420 506, which is currently undergoing revision in Bellinzona.

Numerous Region Alpes EVO RABe 533 are already in service, so the RABe 525 NINA will likely disappear from scheduled service in the foreseeable future, making it worthwhile to capture both trains in one picture. While the RABe 733 703 is traveling as R91 from Birg to Monthey, the RABe 525 039 is waiting as R 81 for departure to Le Châble. April 9, 2026

The MOB Ge 4/4 8004 is waiting in Montreux with its GoldenPass Express (GPX) 4074 to Interlaken Ost, which is barely visible from this angle, for the imminent departure. In the background, the PE 30 220 with the control car Ast 151 at the front is also ready for departure. It will leave about ten minutes after the GPX to Zweisimmen and will serve most stations.

Saar Rail 151 161 runs round in Völklingen on 31 March 2026. Once ubiquitious with DB ranks and later seeing much service with private ranks, the age of six-axle Class 151 is sadly drawing to a close. So enjoy them while you still can!

After an LPG tank train with CT 186 152 entered Nijmegen on 14 April 2020, CT 186 152 runs round. Due to works on the direct track Eindhoven--Tilburg, this train had to accept a serieus detour via Nijmegen, where locos were swapped with a change of direction. The detour went via Venlo to Nijmegen (a Diesel traject) and Nijmegen Tilburg (electric track).

Once a day (and direction), from Monday to Friday, the IR 56 and RE 56 cross at Grenchen Nord, providing not only a colorful scene but also hope that the Pronturter region will not be "cut off" from the rest of Switzerland in the future. The SBB RABe 522 210 as RE 56 4561 from Bonfol to Biel/Bienne crosses at Grenchen Nord with the BLS RABe 528 132, which is traveling as IR 56 1861 from Biel/Bienne to Basel SBB.

The FS Trenitalia Frecciarossa ETR 400 031 has arrived at Lyon Perrache as FR 6647 from Paris Gare de Lyon and is now waiting for the return trip as FR 6654 to Paris Gare de Lyon. Despite the Mont-Cenis closure and thus the separation of the FS Trenitalia ETR fleet in France from the home country, FS has succeeded in maintaining its connections from Paris to Lyon.
