Extra train with SSG 421 374 awaits departure at Payerne on 31 December 2024. THis train will go empty to Geneve, where a host of travellers will spend the switch from 2024 to 2025 om board the train from geneve to Luzern and Burgdforf -and back.

BLS 420 501 stands in Spiez on 2 January 2020. Shortly after that, the BLS -that bought twelve SB B Re 4/4II second-hand- discarded themselves of the older loco class due to the influx of new EMUs.

In Meiringen, the Ta 2/2 No. 3 can be admired; this battery-powered railcar was put into service by the Oberhasli Power Plant (KWO) in 1931 on the Meiringen-Innertkirchen line, which was still operated as an industrial railway at the time and first appeared in the timetable in 1946.
The Ta 2/2 No. 3 was decommissioned in 1977 and sold to the DEV (German Railways) in Bruchhausen-Vilsen as the T 46 in 1979.
In 2024, the Ta 2/2 No. 3 was exchanged for an unspecified Tm 3, and the Ta 2/2 3 was brought back to Meiringen.

Many years ago, I was able to photograph the FS shunting locomotive E 321 009 at Roma Termini. This three-axle electric shunting locomotive was built between 1959 and 1964, was capable of speeds of 50 km/h, and the last locomotive was taken out of service in 2002. The FS E. 646 127 arrives at the Firenze SMN station with a regional train. Interestingly, the two-axle baggage car directly behind the locomotive is a similar image from December 1987.

At the SSIF station in Domodossola, the SSIF ABe 6/6 35 "Verbania" (UIC 84 83 4660 035-6 I-SSIF) is parked. It arrived as a regional train from Re, was cleaned here, and will return to Re later today.

TILO Flirts RABe 524 have been part of everyday operations on Treniatlia and Trenord lines for several years. But a TILO Flirt in Piedmont, more specifically in Domodossola, is a rarity. The SBB TILO RABe 524 102 (UIC 94 85 0 524 012-7 CH-FFS) now enters the DC section of Domodossola station with one pantograph raised. The train appears to be on test run. August 22, 2025

Two tank wagons are hauled by Chemion 275 001 near Kaarst-Broicherseite on 23 July 2025. Since both Duisburg Hochfeld SÜd (with her inland Rhine port) and Dormagen Chemiewerk are sited quite close to this spot, each working day Chemion hauls several tank trains here.

A nice surprise at Beekbergen during the VSM spectacle Terug-naar-Toen: Polsi tank engine TKp23 stands -at least externally- restored in the depot at Beekbergen. For years within the ranks of VSM there was some talk about discarding this Polish machine.

Scanned photo of SBB 11424 running light at Buchs SG on 18 June 2001. The first 25 members of Class Ae 6/6 -later 610- were adorned with thew aluminum striping on the body and moustache at the cab. Later members had to forego this ornament due to the costs and corrosions just beneath the aluminum.

With one 1st Class coach, SLM-1 shuttles on 26 May 2019 the many visitors between the station of Brugg AG and the SBB works nearby for the Open Weekend of Verein Mikado 1244. The handle in the foreground of this picture is used to operate the switches when need arises.
