Due to construction work, the La Plaine - Satigny line is currently only single-track; therefore, the TER coming from Valence in the background has to slow down a bit until the TER to Lyon, partially visible on the right in the picture, clears the track. This was, of course, not very helpful for a "successful" photo, but on the other hand, it shows the operation up close.

Not only in the deep south in Sicily can the new FS Trenitalia regional colors be seen, but also in Domodossola: Although the line to Milan (currently served by replacement bus services due to construction work) is operated by Trenord, Trenitalia regional trains come from Novara to Domodossola. The new TMR/SNCF railcars Beh 4/8 Z 838 are slowly entering service: the TMR SNCF Beh 4/8 893 (90 85 838 893-0) "Le Trient" has come as a special train to Le Châtelard Frontière and is now running back to Vernayaz as an empty stock train. This picture shows the "high-legged" appearance of the railcars caused by the high platforms. The high platforms were built so tall due to the third rail, to prevent anyone from getting the idea to cross the tracks.
