Resurrection in Glory: after three decades, the Dutch have an active ex-DB Class 41 steam loco. The 41 241 was in the posession of Dampflok-Tradition Oberhausen. Due to lack of room, the Oberhauseners decided to store 41 241 at the SSN in Rotterdam Noord Goederen. The SSN however, has no line of her own and a constant feature of her history is the Sword of Damocles in the guise of expansion plans for domestic environments, forcing the SSN to relocate a few times lock, stock and barrel. In 2015 VSM bought 41 241 from the Germans and started to restore her directly in operational condition. With succes: shortly before the September festival Terug naar Toen the loco had concluded test rides. On 3 September 2023 the new star hauls a photo freight into Loenen.

VSM 64 415 calls at Dieren with the 20+ late first steam shuttle train for the steam bonanza Terug naar Toen on 3 September 2023. A much more massive engine was planned for this haul, but she decided to have no urge to do something and the Bubikopf 64 415 had to deputise at last moment's  notice.

Almost ready! VSM bought 41 241 from a German pre3servation society and spent a few years to restore her in operational condition -a deliberate choice and not an afterthought. If all goes as planned, August will see test rides for 41 241 in preparation for the formal public oustingf during the Terug naar Toen train bonanza, each yera held on the first full weekend of September.
