In the background, the SNCF narrow-gauge diesel multiple unit X 74503 was waiting to continue its journey. The diesel railcar runs as TER 61285 from Salbris to Valençay and has a fairly long stop period of nine minutes. Gièvres train station. In Gièvres there is a connection to the standard gauge line Tours - Vierzon. Unfortunately, there were no standard gauge trains running when TER 61285 was in service. The long stay didn't make sense to me, but it was a good opportunity to take more photos of the train. The relatively long stay of the TER 61285, which I had already noticed when planning this photo excursion, was also the reason for photographing this train in Gièvres. April 7, 2024

The SNCF narrow-gauge diesel multiple unit X 74503 is traveling as TER 61285 from Salbris to Valençay and leaves Gièvres station after a rather long stop of nine minutes. In Gièvres there is a connection to the standard gauge line Tours - Vierzon, the tracks of which can be seen in the foreground in the left part of the picture. Unfortunately, there were no standard gauge trains running when TER 61285 was in service. The long stay didn't make sense to me, but it was a good opportunity to take more photos of the train. After a defect occurred in the BWB steam locomotive scheduled for today, the (ex) ÖBB 2095.13 was quickly brought to the shed in Bezau so that the morning train could run as planned. A perfect example of flexibility! People would also like to have this kind of flexibility on the “real” railways... By the way, so that steam could be used in the afternoon, a second steam locomotive was quickly fired up! Sept. 15, 2024
