At a time when DMUs/EMUs/BEMUs/BMUs/DEMUs and other new train sets take over passenger traffic apace, it is nice to see hourly loco haulage on the RE2 Karlhsruhe<=>Konstanz onthe schwarzwald Line -and with many an advertising loco at that! Like 146 236 hauling out an RE2 service out of Villingen (Schwarzwald) to Konstanz. The loco advertises the Black Forest Hiking Trail thatcomes close to the railway tracks (but never illegally!).

The powerful six-axle Stadler EURO 9000 of ELP - European Loc Pool AG (Frauenfeld/CH), leased to RTB CARGO GmbH (Düren), 2019 305-2 Krefti (90 80 2019 305-2 D-ELP), is running on August 21, 2026, with a very long covered freight train through Siegen-Eiserfeld towards Cologne. The Stadler EURO 9000, a Co'Co' Dual Mode locomotive, was built in 2022 by Stadler Rail Valencia S.A.U. in Albuixech (Spain) under factory number 4067 and delivered in April 2023 to ELP - European Loc Pool AG in Frauenfeld (CH).

WFL operates many replacement trains in Germany with loco hauled stock when the newly ordered EMUs/BEMUs/DEMUs are -again- malfunctioning. On 23 April 2026 ex-DB Cargo 145 039 pushes an RE service to Bremen Hbf through Diepholz.

WFL operates many replacement trains in Germany with loco hauled stock when the newly ordered EMUs/BEMUs/DEMUs are -again- malfunctioning. The 1960s seem to have returned at Krefeld-Oppum on 20 August 2026 with TRI 110 448 calling there with the famous RB37 to Krefeld Hbf. Mo-Fr this service always exists of N-Wagen (dating from the 1960s), but traction is mostly ex-DB Classes 145 or 111 so to find 110 448 on this service is a rare joy indeed.
