Second of five: NS 1732 quits 's-Hertogenbosch with the 2nd of five overnight trains from Tyrol on 4 March 2012. In order to replace Classes 1100, 1200 and 1300 in one blow/"fell swoop"(thanks to Shakespeare's MacBeth) NS ordered French again with a slightly modernised and somewhat lighter nez-cassé like Class 1600. The 81 locos ordered became Class 1700 and from 1994 were almost exclusively deployed om passenger services, from the humble urban trains to international crack passenger trains.
