Side view on 2530 at Nijmegen on 15 December 2024. The last of a 130-strong Class of Alsthom-build Diesel locomotives, 2530 was equipped with a raised cab (and lower bonnets) to improve the driver's view. Due to the strong emphasis on electrification of the Dutch railways (that commenced from 1934 on and was only interrupted by WW-2) the 2530 remained a one-off. After service with the Netherlands State Railways NS she was sold to VSM that returned this loco into her pruple/lila colours, earning her the nickname Bisshop (at requests from the three Dutch southern provinces Gelderland, Noord-Brabant and Limburg, these being staunchly Roman Catholic in the 1950s and 1960s).

Vista laterale della 2530 a Nijmegen il 15 dicembre 2024. L'ultima di una serie di 130 locomotive diesel di Classe costruite da Alsthom, la 2530 era dotata di una cabina rialzata (e cofani più bassi) per migliorare la visuale del macchinista. A causa della forte enfasi sull'elettrificazione delle ferrovie olandesi (iniziata nel 1934 e interrotta solo dalla Seconda Guerra Mondiale), la 2530 rimase un esemplare unico. Dopo il servizio presso le Ferrovie Statali Olandesi NS, fu venduta alla VSM che riportò questa locomotiva ai suoi colori viola/lilla, guadagnandole il soprannome Bisshop (su richiesta delle tre province meridionali olandesi Gelderland, Noord-Brabant e Limburg, fortemente cattoliche romane negli anni '50 e '60). 

On a murky 15 December 2024 VSM's Bisshop 2530 hauls a speical train into Nijmegen. That weekend, six museum train service shuttled between Arnhem and Nijmegen, called Christmas-Express.

Railway Bishop: former NS 2530 enjoys the Sun at the VSM headquarters in Beekbergen on 28 July 2023. Due to her unique purple-pinkish colours, 2530 earned the nickname Bishop. In 2019 VSM restored the till then brown Bishop in the purple-pink investiture.

Vescovo ferroviario: l'ex NS 2530 si gode il sole presso la sede VSM a Beekbergen il 28 luglio 2023. Grazie ai suoi unici colori viola-rosati, il 2530 ha guadagnato il soprannome di Vescovo. Nel 2019 la VSM ha restaurato il Vescovo, allora marrone, nel suo abito viola-rosato. 

On 6 September 2015 ex-NS 2530 stands at the VSM depot in Beekbergen. The last of Class 2400/2500 was modified with a raised cab and slightly lowered bonnets to provide the loco driver better view. No further orders were placed by NS however, electric traction having given priority, but in Peru, one operator ordered sixteem of these modified Alsthom standard locos, the normal NS Class 2400 being the standard design.
