The SBB Re 4/4 II 11247 (Re 420 247-9) from SBB Cargo is on its way towards Biel/Bienne near Ligerz. Between Ligerz and Twann is the last single-track section of the Jura foot line, with a bypass tunnel already under construction, so this wonderful photo spot will disappear in the foreseeable future.

Not only the railway facilities, but also the surroundings of Renens VD station have been completely redesigned in recent years. And now I have discovered that right next to the tracks there is a new footpath that offers a good view of the station head towards Lausanne.  
In the picture, an IR 90 heading towards Genève and an SBB ICN RABe 500 as IC 5 from Romanshorn to Lausanne.

The IRSI/IGE  Rheingold  Re 4/4 II 11387 (Re 421 387-2) coming from Morges leaves the line to Genève in Gland and runs over an industrial track towards the gravel plant to pick up its train to Apples there. The leased IRSI/IGE Re 4/4 II 11387 (Re 421 387-2) replaces the BAM MBC Re 420 506, which is currently undergoing revision in Bellinzona.

While the RABe 733 703 is traveling as R91 from Birg to Monthey, the RABe 525 039 is waiting as R 81 for departure to Le Châble. April 9, 2026
