Ex-NS 2412 stands at the VSM in Beekbergen on 6 September 2015. When NS ordered 129 locos of this Class with Alstom, the Dutch experimented with colour schemes, resulting in this turqois for 2401-2422 before the brown of the 1960s waqs introduced to the whole Class. Since VSM already had a brown 2400, they decided to buy a second loco from a French operator and painted her in this colour scheme.

Kiedy NS zamówiło 129 lokomotyw tej klasy u Alstoma, Holendrzy eksperymentowali z schematami kolorystycznymi, co zaowocowało tym turkusowym kolorem dla 2401-2422, zanim w całej klasie wprowadzono brąz z lat 60. XX wieku. Ponieważ VSM już posiadało brązową 2400, zdecydowali się kupić drugą lokomotywę od francuskiego operatora i pomalowali ją w tym schemacie kolorystycznym.

The first batch of thirteen Diesel lcomotives Class 2400 were delivered in turqouis for possible deployment on passenger trains. The colour however, became dirty very fast and with the influx of DMUs, plans to deploy Class 2400 on passenger trains were dropped immeditely. One of these turqouis locos, NS 2412 , has been preserved by the VSM and is sen here on 4 September 2022 at their depot in Beekbergen.

Former NS 2412 stands in Beekbergen, head quarters of the VSM, on 28 July 2023. In 1952 the first batch of Class 2400 were painted blue for projected passenger service, but as NS decided to go for DMUs, the 2400s soon received a dark brown colour for deployment in freight service.

W 1952 roku pierwsza partia serii 2400 została pomalowana na niebiesko z myślą o planowanej obsłudze pasażerskiej, ale ponieważ NS zdecydowały się na pojazdy szynowe z napędem spalinowym (DMU), lokomotywy 2400 wkrótce otrzymały ciemnobrązowy kolor do eksploatacji w ruchu towarowym.
