HexaFRET 37015 hauls a coal train through Neuwied on 30 April 2026. After a serious slap of the hand by the EU, SNCF FRET had to discard 23 profitable operations as a punishment for illegal state support in the past. After this chastisement, FRET rose from the ashes to attempt to improve her own doing, renaming herself to HexaFRET -since the railway natwork of France cam be compared with a hexagon.

Léman Express in La Roche sur Foron: There, the SNCF Z31525 and the SBB RABe 522 232 are waiting for departure. The SNCF Z 31525 is on its way from Coppet to St-Gervais les Bains Le Fayet, and the SBB LEX RABe 522 from Annecy to Coppet, thus providing a good connection in La Roche sur Foron from Annecy to St-Gervais les Bains le Fayet.

The SBB RABe 523.5 units procured for the (long-distance) traffic from Neuchatel to La Chaux de Fonds were not used there, as BLS operates the route with their MIKA RABe 528. Thus, the trains were temporarily deployed at REV VAUD. And the passengers enjoyed the offered long-distance travel comfort. An SBB RABe 523.5 Mouettes is on the "Train des Vignes" route above St Saphorin on the way to Vevey.

... but often it is precisely the nasty weather that enables atmospheric steam locomotive pictures.
In Chaulin, the SEG G 2x 2/2 105 of the Blonay Chamby Railway is shunting and, with its steam and smoke, bathes the museum station in a very special atmosphere.

Standing with my back practically at the 1078-meter-long Bois de la Bâtie tunnel portal and using a small free-to-completely-bay area, I was able to photograph the SNCF Coradia Polyvalent regional tri-current Z31507 M on the 167-meter-long Jonction viaduct. The SNCF multiple unit is operating as LEX RL1 23316 on the journey from Coppet to Evian-les-Bains.

The SNCF BB 22391 'Nez cassé' is running with its TER 96634 through La Plaine station and will soon reach France. The old DC catenary masts, now retrofitted with SBB overhead line equipment, still stand and supply the line with SNCF AC at 25,000 volts 50 hertz. However, as hinted at on the far left of the image, major reconstruction work is planned for the station, so it will likely present a different appearance soon. On the bottom left of the image, a piece of buffer stop "disturbs" the view but shows that I took the photo from the platform. The TER is on the journey from Genève (departure 9:57) to Valence (arrival 13:13). June 1, 2026.

Not only deep in the south in Sicily can the new FS Trenitalia regional colors be seen, but also in Domodossola: Although the line to Milan (currently served by replacement bus services due to construction work) is operated by Trenord, Trenitalia regional trains come from Novara to Domodossola. In the picture: The FS Trenitalia Ale 501 010 Minuetto (UIC 94 83 3501 010-4 I-TI) arrives as regional train R 11428 from Novara at its destination Domodossola.
