At the terminal station Kühlungsborn West, the Molli Museum invites visitors on a journey into railway history. In addition to an indoor area featuring old ticket printers and signal boxes, there is also an outdoor area to explore, where, among other things, a longitudinally cut original boiler of the steam locomotive 99.2323-6 from 1932 is on display. On a freezing 4 June 203, FS D 245 6060 is about to pull an ÖBB Taurus off the EuroCity to Bologna Centrale at B renero. After hauling and pulling the loco to the other side of the station, the shunter wil give the Taurus a last psuh that should freewheel the AQustrian loco back under the 15 kV 16,7 Hz catenary.

The traditional Gotthelf Market takes place in Sumiswald, and for this market, the Emmental Railway runs several steam trains on the Sumiswald Grünen - Wasen i.E. line. The photo shows the E 3/3 853 of the Dampfbahn Bern association entering Sumiswald Grünen. The steam locomotive was built in Winterthur in 1890 under the factory number 629 and delivered to the J-S (Jura Simplon Railway) as the F3 853. At the SBB, the E 3/3 series shunting locomotives with the running numbers 851 - 853 were assigned to Group 82 and given the numbers 8571 - 8576. In 1911, the E 3/3 853 locomotive received a new boiler and was sold to the RVT, where it remained in service until 1928, when it was used as an "industrial shunting locomotive" by Von Roll in Gerlafingen and Klus. When diesel locomotives made the steam locomotive obsolete, the Düby Foundation saved it from scrap by handing it over to the DBB (German Railways). After its overhaul in 1983, it entered service on the Sensetalbahn, among other routes. After another overhaul in 2021, the DBB E 3/3 853 was used primarily on the Emmentalbahn line from Sumiswald-Grünen to Wasen i.E. Today, the E 3/3 853 bears the UIC number 90 85 0008 573-7. Swiss Steam Festival 2025 - As far as I knew, this train was supposed to run with the LEB G 3/3 No. 5. In addition, the paddle steamer "La Suisse" suffered damage, forcing the steamship to spend an extended time in the shipyard—a rather unfortunate event for steam in the region. But I was, of course, very happy to be able to photograph the beautiful RhB Bernina Bahn Ge 4/4 81 of the Blonay-Chamby Railway in good light on the renovated Baye de Clarens Viaduct.
