Our train from Palermo to Messina, the iC 730, was stationed on platform 1 at Palermo Centrale that day, which did not exactly make photographing easy... The FS Trenitalia E 464 213 is leading the train, which today is also operating with the train section from Siracusa to Messina, as the Messina - Taormina route was still closed the day before.

The FS Trenitalia Frecciarossa ETR 400 031 has arrived at Lyon Perrache as FR 6647 from Paris Gare de Lyon and is now waiting for the return trip as FR 6654 to Paris Gare de Lyon. Despite the Mont-Cenis closure and thus the separation of the FS Trenitalia ETR fleet in France from the home country, FS has succeeded in maintaining its connections from Paris to Lyon.

Due to construction work between Iselle and Domodossola, the BLS RABe 528 operate as R1 hourly (instead of every two hours) from Brig to Iselle. In Iselle, there was then a bus connection to Domodossola. Of photographic interest, however, were the BLS RABe 528 turning around in Iselle, as the next three pictures show.

The image also shows, to some extent, that the other tracks in Cefalù are accessed via rather narrow platforms. Furthermore, the double track ends shortly before Cefalù when approaching from Palermo.
