When you want to catch a train, you generally head to the station well in advance, happily accepting a few minutes of waiting time. Well, I also wanted to "catch" a train—or rather, photograph one: the SBB HGe 4/4. In my case, however, the wait didn't last just a few minutes; it spanned nearly four decades before I was finally able to photograph the "Muni"!
Thanks to the "Brünig-Nostalgie-Bahn" (Brünig Nostalgia Railway) having restored the HGe 4/4 in 1992, I was finally able to take extensive photographs of this impressive locomotive during the 20th-anniversary celebrations of the Zentralbahn (a subsidiary of the SBB) in Meiringen.
After the HGe 4/4 arrived in Meiringen from Lucerne with its anniversary train in 1992, the train was shunted, providing several interesting photo opportunities.
