Two SBB GIRUNO RABe 501s are in Faido on their way south.

A SOB TRAVERSO RABe 526 drives as Treno Gottardo over the 103 meter long Polmengo Bridge, on the way to Locarno Sept.

The SOB TRAVERSO, the RABe 526 218 on the way to Locarno leaves Faido.

Two SBB GIRUNO RABe 501s are in Faido on their way south. At first glance, Faido train station appears as it did before the GTB went into operation, but upon closer inspection (and it is hardly visible in the photo) tracks 1 and 4 are no longer in use, the switches are screwed and the contact line is grounded.

In July 2016 I found this photo location north of Faido, a little above the Broscerina Tunnel with a view of the 103 meter long Polmengo Bridge, which bridges the Ticino River here.

Due to the closure of the Gotthard Base Tunnel, trains ran again for several weeks on the classic Gotthard railway line. In the picture, an SBB RABe 501 "Giruno" shortly before Faido on its way towards Lugano. 4 Sept. 2023 

Due to planned maintenance work, a large part of the Gotthard trains will be routed via the panoramic route during the low-traffic period in the second week of January. This includes this SBB RABe 501 "Giruno," which is in Airolo heading towards Bellinzona. January 21, 2025 
