After the BLS RE 11 4545 with the BLS RABe 528 111 and 101 from Biel/Bienne arrives in Iselle, the line ends on the RE 1 to Bern. But first, the BLS car tunnel train must depart with the Re 4/4 195 to Brig. A few words about the location of this photo. I was standing on the sloping road next to a wall and was able to comfortably position my camera on the wall's edge. The whole thing was observed by Italian border guards, which guarantees that the law was fully observed. August 17, 2024

In Kandersteg, in addition to the BLS Re 465 004 seen in the background, the two BLS Re 4/4s 192 and 184 are also ironed up and are probably waiting for their next assignment; but the time of the beautiful BLS Re 4/4 really seems to be running out.

The BLS Re 4/4 182 is parked in front of the depot in Brig.

Sadly, the era of this BLS locomotive series is coming to an end.

Currently, the BLS Re 4/4s are only used in motor tunnel traffic, and even there, the Re 465 is increasingly taking over services.

Still going strond is BLS 179 at Brig on 1 January 2024. Although she has no duties, her pantograph is raised because the temperatures are sub-zero and catching current from the catenary warms the loco a bit, preventing frost damage.

The BLS Re 4/4 191 in Kandersteg. The end of use of the BLS Re 474 (Re 425) seems to be foreseeable. A few locomotives are still used in car tunnel traffic, but preparations are already being made to replace them in the form of the BLS Re 465.
