The Railpool 186 497 is waiting in Airolo for its train to be loaded with excavated material from the Gotthard road tunnel (2nd tube) in order to then take the train to Flüelen.

After the sun disappeared behind the mountains in Airolo at midday, things turned out well in Göschenen from midday onwards. The picture was taken near the Göschenen entrance signal and shows the two SBB RABe 501 016 "Glarus" at the front and 501 008 "Monte Ceneri" at the end as IC 21 10671 on the journey from Basel SBB to Lugano.
