The complex renovation work on the Baye de Clarens Viaduct has been completed. To withstand the constant pressure of the mountain, a pier on the Blonay side was designed so that the viaduct slides flexibly and only needs to be readjusted in 20 to 25 years.
Pictured here is the SEG G 2x 2/2 105 of the Blonay Chamby Railway on its way to Chaulin.

Swiss Steam Festival 2025 - The steam locomotives will be dismantled in Chaulin, and, as has been the custom in recent years, electric vehicles will take over the last trains: In Blonay, RhB Bernina Bahn Ge 4/4 81 of the Blonay Chamby Railway waits with its train for departure to Chaulin.

Swiss Steam Festival 2025 - As far as I knew, this train was supposed to run with the LEB G 3/3 No. 5. In addition, the paddle steamer La Suisse suffered damage, forcing the steamship to spend an extended time in the shipyard—a rather unfortunate event for steam in the region. But I was, of course, very happy to be able to photograph the beautiful RhB Bernina Bahn Ge 4/4 81 of the Blonay-Chamby Railway in good light on the renovated Baye de Clarens Viaduct.

The weather seems Breton enough for the Dm 2/2 Biniou to venture out for a short excursion. Here, the railcar is being prepared for a later trip to Chamby.

The BFD HG 3/4 No. 3 of the Blonay Chamby Railway is near Chaulin on its way to Chamby, but is having some trouble on the damp tracks on the incline at km 8.2. However, thanks to the driver's sensitive instinct, the train doesn't break down.

The SEG G 2x 2/2 105 of the Blonay Chamby Railway is near Chantemerle on its way to Blonay. The new tracks on this section are clearly visible. During the renovation of the Baye de Clarens Viaduct, a layer of gravel was laid in the track area to allow road vehicles to access the construction site. This didn't look very attractive (at least for my taste), and I largely avoided taking pictures in this section.

The SEG G 2x 2/2 105 of the Blonay Chamby Railway is en route with its steam train from Blonay to Chamby, crossing the newly renovated Baye de Clarens viaduct. The western section of the viaduct has been rebuilt and will be able to absorb the constant mountain pressure (or the movement of the slope) towards the Baye de Clarens Gorge without deforming the bridge.
