The TMR BDeh 4/8 22, operating as TER 18914 from Vallorcine to Saint-Gervais-Bains, arrives at Montroc-le-Planet.

The tunnel in the background can also be used by cars when the pass road is closed, although rail traffic will then be restricted.

BLS 465 002 pushes a regional train to Spiez and Interlaken Ost out of Zweizimmen on 31 December 2025. The coaches are multi-gaugable, enabling the train -but not the loco- to ride on both 1,435mm standard gauge and the smaller 1,000mm gauge of the MOB.

The (ex DB) WRS 193 302 (91 80 6193 302-7 D-WRSCH) is standing in Lausanne with a long train of tank cars before continuing its journey. According to the markings, the locomotive is approved for operation in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, the Netherlands, and Belgium, although the voltage ratings listed in practically the same location are unclear to me: 3000 V, 1500 V, 1500 V 50 Hz, and 1000 V 16.7 Hz. Unfortunately, the locomotive and its train were positioned very awkwardly for photography, mainly due to the length of the train. These are themselves scheduled to be replaced by the new Siemens double-decker trains in 2031. The picture shows RE 33 18418 traveling from St-Maurice to Annemasse, shortly after Villeneuve, with the Château de Chillon in the background.

The TGV LYRIA 9203 from Paris Gare de Lyon to Zurich, consisting of trainset 4726, offers a rather tight connection to the SNCF Z73800 Coradia A TER  Baleine  waiting at Meroux station, bound for Belfort. Why diesel multiple units are now (also) being used on the electrified Delle - Belfort line is beyond my knowledge. December 10, 2025

With 20% more passengers, the Alpes region is reaching its capacity limits and has therefore leased a RABe 528 MIKA train from BLS. This train covers two to three round trips from Monday to Friday, freeing up Domino trains to reinforce other services. The image shows BLS RABe 528 109 in St-Gingolph, waiting to depart for Brig as train R 91 6125.
