Swiss Steam Festival / Schweizer Dampffestival 2026 - Although I am now fortunate enough to be able to visit the Festival Suisse de la vapeur more often, one might think that the subjects would eventually run out. But as this picture shows, that is not the case. In this instance, it is due to the visit of the G 2/2 TICINO! In my opinion, the A 3/5 may be one of the most beautiful steam locomotives, but the G 2/2 TICINO has truly grown on me, especially since I was able to ride in the cab of the G 2/2 TICINO for the first time in 2018. I was all the more delighted that the G 2/2 TICINO is enriching this year’s steam festival. After initially thinking that it would be hardly possible to photograph the locomotive in the crowd, this opportunity presented itself: The little TICINO is being supplied with coal/wood and water in the locomotive servicing facility at Chaulin to take on shunting duties again at the museum station.
