Region Alpes has leased this service from BLS on weekdays because passenger numbers have increased significantly and the capacities of Region Alpes will only be improved with the delivery of the EVO railcars.

At the BLS / MLB Grenchen Nord station, the two BLS MIKA RABe 528 134 from Basel to Biel/Bienne and the RABe 528 109 from Biel/Bienne to Basel SBB cross paths. For a long time, exactly 105 years, there were hardly any BLS trains to be seen on this route. Since the opening of the BLS / MLB line, the SBB had been handling the traffic, which, contrary to the original plan, did not run primarily via Delle but focused on the Basel - Biel/Bienne axis. Now, finally, BLS trains are also in operation on this route, providing the half-hourly service together with the SBB ICN. May 20, 2026 
