After a decade of restoration, ex-DR ReKo Kriegslok of the VSM 52 8139 is back on tracks and on 5 September 2026 she stands at Loenen tender in front before a steam shuttle service to Dieren via



Ex-NS, now VSM 2233 banks one of the each 45 minutes operating shuttle trains between Beekbergen and Loenen out of Loenen during the annual Terug-naar-Toen train bonanza. Diesel passenger trains in the netherlands have almostalways been operated by DMUs; Diesel loco haulage being very rare; onlyin the proximity of Winterswijk and Zevenaar a few peak hour trains were loco hauled. The passenger stock on this train is the hauled versionof Mat'24 Blokkendoos and VSM each year does a very fine job inrecreating the few Diesel loco hauled trains fromthe past -in combination with German Einheitsdampfloks or GDR ReKos.
