Tu-Sa Neuwied sees massive flows of freights since it is sited between Köln and Koblenz on the right Rhine bank (Rechtsrheinisch in German) where most freights between the two cities are directed -the left Rhine bank tracks (Linksrheinisch in good German) sees the long distance passenger trains that do not use the Köln-Frankfurt HSL.

Rather bleached DBC 185 012 hauls a steel train through Neuwied on 30 April 2026. The use of environment friendly paints sadly has lead to the fastbleaching of DB locos because the paints are less capable to withstand bad weather conditions.
