That weekend, the 30th anniversary of the last coal-fired DB Pacifics in the Rheine area ought have been commemmorated, but DB banned steam operatoions due to hot weather conditions and the risk of bush fires. Instead of two steam locos, the Dutch railway fans that travveled from Rotterdam to Rheine had to make do with an old electric.

CBB 110 278 takes over an extra train at Venlo on 7 February 2026. Because the platforms on tracks 1 and thre were occupied AND due to the partying public, it was decided at Venlo to swap locos on the fre track 2 that has no platforms. Here, the oldie has just put herself in front of the train and will lower her frontal pantograph to allow for electric connections betwen loco0 and coaches to be made. 
