After the renovation, both tubes will offer more safety by separating traffic directions, but will only be allowed to have one lane per tube. It will be interesting to see whether this will be adhered to... The excavated material will be transported to Flüelen by train. The Railpool 186 497 has arrived in Airolo with its block freight train consisting of Sggrrs S 204 double wagons.
