RFO 2019 304 enters Sittard on 22 September 2024 with such a steel train and will wait for 15 minutes before departing to Maastricht with electric traction. At the station of Maastricht, the loco will switch off the electrics, run round an use Diesel power to haul the literal last mile to the Beatrixhaven.

After a defect occurred in the BWB steam locomotive scheduled for today, the (ex) ÖBB 2095.13 was quickly brought to the shed in Bezau so that the morning train could run as planned. A perfect example of flexibility!
People would also like to have this kind of flexibility on the “real” railways...
By the way, so that steam could be used in the afternoon, a second steam locomotive was quickly fired up!

In Kandersteg, the two BLS Re 4/4 192 and 184 as well as the BLS Re 465 004 are waiting for a new mission. Today, of the three AT1 car tunnel trains, only one with a BLS Re 4/4 (Re 425) was still in use, see above that the use of this multi-purpose locomotive must be expected to end soon. Sept. 12, 2024
