1988年3月3日、NS DE-II 171はミルヨーネンラインでのNS運行の最後の年にシンペルフェルトからケルクラーデへ出発しました。この路線は美しいものの地理的条件から建設費が高くついた路線です。NSが撤退した後、ZLSMが設立され、蒸気機関車による観光列車のために路線を保存しました。そして今日に至るまで、ZLSMはオランダで最も美しい風景の一つを走る観光列車による収益向上の地域的取り組みの一環として存続しています。

After ten years of restauration, ZLSM, ex VSM 52 532 is active again sincs May 2026. Here she stands at Schin op Geul on 19 August 2026 before a fully loaded steam train to Simpelveld. This train arrived 20 minutes earlier from Simpelveld, so a quick run round of the old steamer was on order -and performed perfectly. 
