BLS passenger train departs a BLS station – in itself, a perfectly ordinary occurrence – but this everyday occurrence was something one had to wait a full 110 years for! When the BLS/MLB line began operating in 1915, it was taken over by the SBB, initially – unusually for BLS – even with steam locomotives. The intended France-Italy traffic on the line gradually evolved, due to territorial changes in Alsace, into increasingly domestic traffic between Basel and the western Swiss Plateau. The reactivation of the Delle-Belfort line revived the historical concept of the service, but ridership fell far short of expectations. Therefore, since the timetable change, a half-hourly service has been offered on the Biel/Bienne-Basel SBB line, with BLS trains now supplementing the existing ICN trains and finally being used on the MLB BLS network. Un train de voyageurs BLS quitte une gare BLS – en soi, un événement tout à fait ordinaire – mais cet événement quotidien a nécessité une attente de 110 ans ! Lorsque la ligne BLS/MLB a commencé à fonctionner en 1915, elle a été reprise par les CFF, initialement – ce qui est inhabituel pour la BLS – même avec des locomotives à vapeur. Le trafic prévu entre la France et l’Italie sur cette ligne a progressivement évolué, en raison des changements territoriaux en Alsace, vers un trafic de plus en plus domestique entre Bâle et le Plateau suisse occidental. La réactivation de la ligne Delle-Belfort a ravivé le concept historique du service, mais la fréquentation est restée bien en deçà des attentes. Par conséquent, depuis le changement d’horaire, un service toutes les demi-heures est proposé sur la ligne Bienne/Biel-Bâle CFF, avec des trains BLS venant désormais compléter les trains ICN existants et étant enfin utilisés sur le réseau MLB BLS. If one had to wait 110 years, or rather, I had to wait 63 years until a BLS train finally appeared at Grenchen Nord station, I'll venture to post another picture on this topic. I would have liked to have taken the pictures earlier, but I had to wait until the fog and workdays cleared and I had the opportunity to make a quick trip to Grenchen; with the certainty that I would definitely revisit this colorful subject later this year. The picture shows the BLS RABe 528 132 as IR56 1861 on its way from Biel/Bienne to Basel SBB, stopping and waiting for the oncoming train at Grenchen Nord.

Si "on" a dû attendre 110 ans, ou plutôt, si j'ai dû attendre 63 ans avant qu'un train BLS n'apparaisse enfin à la gare de Grenchen Nord, je me permets de publier une autre photo sur ce sujet. J'aurais aimé prendre les photos plus tôt, mais j'ai dû attendre que le brouillard et les jours ouvrables se dissipent et que j'aie l'occasion de faire un rapide voyage à Grenchen ; avec la certitude que je reviendrais certainement sur ce sujet coloré plus tard cette année. La photo montre le BLS RABe 528 132 en tant qu'IR56 1861 sur son trajet de Bienne/Biel à Bâle SBB, s'arrêtant et attendant le train en sens inverse à Grenchen Nord. 13 janvier 2026 
