On 16 February 2026 RDC DE 2700-03 SANDY oozes at Niebüll in the far North of Germany. Even in rather off-season periods three car carrying trains can be spotted between Niebüll and Westerland (Sylt) -there are no roads between the two cities and all traffic has to take the train that crosses the sea arms over the Hindenburg causeway.

Metronom/Start 246 005 pushes a regional train out of Hamburg-Harburg to Cuxhaven on 13 February 2026. The Metronom franchise was to last untill December 2028, but financial difficulties led to the termination of the contract in 2026, DB Regio daughter Start taking over.

Le 21 août 2026, le Musée ferroviaire saxon à Chemnitz-Hilbersdorf a organisé son défilé semestriel de locomotives sur la voie de raccordement entre le musée ferroviaire SEM à Chemnitz-Hilbersdorf et la ligne principale entre Chemnitz Hbf et Dresden Hbf. Ils font toujours cela lors de leurs Heizhausfests (mars et août) et le 21 août 2026, l'un des participants était l'ITL 118 552 en livrée rétro-DR.
