The car tunnel trains on the AT1 route (and AT2 in high season) to Kandersteg (or Iselle) and AT 3 Brig Iselle are the last scheduled areas of operation for the BLS Re 4/4 (Re 425).

The car tunnel trains on the AT1 route (and AT2 in high season) to Kandersteg (or Iselle) can be found photographically in a very awkward place in the Kandersteg train station and are therefore difficult to photograph. However, the route to the tunnel offers good opportunities to photograph the last BLS Re 4/4 in use. I still stayed at Kandersteg train station and was able to photograph the BLS Re 4/4 185 with its car tunnel train in the station. The train is waiting for the BLS RABe 521 to depart as R1 from Domodossola to Bern, in order to then travel as a service train towards Frutigen. Jan 3, 2024

The BLS RABe 528 105 "MIKA" rented by RegionAlps arrived as R91 6116 from Brig (from 11:03) in St-Gingolph (at 13:06) and is now waiting for the return journey. With France behind us (approx. 500 meters from the border), the view here is towards the Vaud Alps to the east. July 24, 2024 
