Former NS 2412 stands in Beekbergen, head quarters of the VSM, on 28 July 2023. In 1952 the first batch of Class 2400 were painted blue for projected passenger service, but as NS decided to go for DMUs, the 2400s soon received a dark brown colour for deployment in freight service. 
