It is Saturday 5 September 2026 and the first saturday of September and that means the VSM train bonanza Terug naar Toen (Back to Yonder) that sees every hour a steam train between the VSM's head quartes Beekbergen and Apeldoorn (connecting to the national railways network); five steam trains to Dieren (connecting with the national railways network) and every 45 minutes a steam train to and from Loenen. Ex-DR ReKo 50 3654 -including some socialists flagging- passes a score (indeed 20+!) photographers near Lieren with a train from Loenen that will end at nearby Beekbergen.

At Beekbergen ex-DR ReKo 52 8139 just arrived with the hourly steam shuttle from Apeldoorn. Here, the loco willuncouple and get fresh coal and water, whilst another steamer will set herself atthe other end of the train for the return job.
