125 Years of the MOB – The MOB railcar: the ABDe 8/8! Naturally, it had to be part of the anniversary celebrations. There is an unconfirmed rumor that this railcar will be fully restored for the 150th-anniversary celebrations. At present, the ABDe 8/8 4001 "SUISSE"—which has been stabled in Lenk for some time—is still in working order, but it is no longer permitted to carry passengers.
Upon closer inspection (although not visible in the photo), this beautiful railcar is in need of a major overhaul at the Chernex workshops; however, there are still a few years left until the MOB’s 150th anniversary...

125 år av MOB—och uppfyllelsen av en länge närd dröm: en direktförbindelse mellan Montreux och Interlaken! Till höger i bilden syns FZe 6/6 2002; beställd 1931 och levererad 1932—mitt under den stora depressionen—den kan tekniskt sett ha kommit för sent, men den förkroppsligar perfekt MOB:s filosofi: att vara annorlunda än resten! 125 år av MOB: Jag önskar MOB allt gott, och må den återigen visa att erfaren, pålitlig service—en kvalitet som har saknats mycket under de senaste åren. 17 oktober 2026 

125 år av MOB – för att fira detta har MOB:s Ge 4/4 8002-lok fått en speciallackering (eller snarare, en vinylfolie). Personligen gillar jag den, men det väcker frågan om ett modernt järnvägsbolag inte borde ha valt en något mer innovativ reklamlösning. Ge 4/4 8002 har anlänt till Zweisimmen med sin "GPX" Montreux–Interlaken-tjänst och håller nu på att växlas in på en sidospår, eftersom tåget kommer att tas över av ett BLS Re 465-lok för resten av resan. 17 september 2026 
