125 Years of the MOB – The MOB railcar: the ABDe 8/8! Naturally, it had to be part of the anniversary celebrations. There is an unconfirmed rumor that this railcar will be fully restored for the 150th-anniversary celebrations. At present, the ABDe 8/8 4001 "SUISSE"—which has been stabled in Lenk for some time—is still in working order, but it is no longer permitted to carry passengers.
Upon closer inspection (although not visible in the photo), this beautiful railcar is in need of a major overhaul at the Chernex workshops; however, there are still a few years left until the MOB’s 150th anniversary...

125 Jahre MOB—und die Erfüllung eines lang gehegten Traums: eine direkte Verbindung zwischen Montreux und Interlaken! Rechts im Bild ist die FZe 6/6 2002 zu sehen; bestellt 1931 und 1932 eingetroffen—mitten in der Weltwirtschaftskrise—mag sie technisch zu spät gekommen sein, verkörpert sie doch perfekt die Philosophie der MOB: anders zu sein als der Rest! 125 Jahre MOB: Ich wünsche der MOB alles Gute und möge sie erneut unter Beweis stellen, dass erfahrene, zuverlässige Bedienung—eine Qualität, die in den letzten Jahren schmerzlich vermisst wurde—wieder möglich ist. 17. 125 Jahre MOB – zum Jubiläum wurde der Ge 4/4 8002 der MOB mit einer Sonderlackierung (bzw. einer Folienbeklebung) versehen. Persönlich gefällt sie mir zwar, doch stellt sich die Frage, ob eine moderne Bahn nicht eine etwas innovativere Werbegestaltung hätte wählen sollen.
Die Ge 4/4 8002 ist mit ihrem "GPX" Montreux–Interlaken-Zug in Zweisimmen angekommen und wird nun auf ein Abstellgleis rangiert, da der Zug für den weiteren Verlauf von einer BLS Re 465-Lokomotive übernommen wird.
