De NMBS 485 als Intercity van Antwerpen Centraal naar Lille Flandres (Frankrijk) op perron 2 niveau +1 bij Antwerpen Centraal.



125 Years of the MOB – The MOB railcar: the ABDe 8/8! Naturally, it had to be part of the anniversary celebrations. There is an unconfirmed rumor that this railcar will be fully restored for the 150th-anniversary celebrations. At present, the ABDe 8/8 4001 SUISSE —which has been stabled in Lenk for some time—is still in working order, but it is no longer permitted to carry passengers. Upon closer inspection (although not visible in the photo), this beautiful railcar is in need of a major overhaul at the Chernex workshops; however, there are still a few years left until the MOB’s 150th anniversary... 125 jaar MOB—en de vervulling van een lang gekoesterde droom: een directe verbinding tussen Montreux en Interlaken! Rechts op de foto staat de FZe 6/6 2002; besteld in 1931 en gearriveerd in 1932—midden in de Grote Depressie—mogelijk technisch te laat, maar het belichaamt perfect de filosofie van de MOB: anders zijn dan de rest! 125 jaar MOB: ik wens de MOB het allerbeste toe, en moge het opnieuw aantonen dat ervaren, betrouwbare dienstverlening—een kwaliteit die de afgelopen jaren hard gemist is—weer tot bloei komt. 17 oktober 2026

125 jaar MOB – ter gelegenheid hiervan heeft de MOB-locomotief Ge 4/4 8002 een speciale kleurstelling gekregen (of beter gezegd, een vinylwrap). Hoewel ik het persoonlijk mooi vind, roept het wel de vraag op of een moderne spoorweg niet voor een wat innovatiever promotieontwerp had moeten kiezen. De Ge 4/4 8002 is aangekomen in Zweisimmen met haar GPX Montreux–Interlaken dienst en wordt nu op een zijspoor gezet, aangezien de trein voor het resterende traject wordt overgenomen door een BLS Re 465-locomotief. 17 september 2026
