After the test shots in Roche VD, I drove to Lake Geneva and unpacked my large heavy camera, because as long as it still works, I am reluctant to do without this reliable camera (especially for photo tours). At a well-known photo spot near Villeneuve with Château de Chillon in the background, the 193 062 (UIC 91 80 6193 062-7 D-RCM) rented by SBB Cargo passes with a short freight train heading towards Valais.

In rather unfavorable lighting, the 193 057 rented by SBB passes through Roche VD station with a freight train; on the left, the restored waiting shelter and on the right, somewhat obscured by modern equipment, the also excellently refurbished station building in chalet style.

I'm not a cow to want to lug around my 1.356 kg heavy camera all day like a bell; so the idea arose to at least look for a compact but still "good" camera for day trips without a focus on photography. For a few test shots, I chose the Roche VD station, which was recently renovated but still shows itself quite photogenic with shelters and a renovated chalet-style station building.
This test image shows the R2 train 24226 from Bex to Grandson arriving from Aigle in backlight.

At Ligerz, on the last relatively short single-track section of the Jura Foot Line, an SBB RBDe 560 Domino is on its way towards Biel/Bienne. The work for the double-track expansion in the form of a tunnel is already underway, and in a few years it will no longer be possible to photograph trains in this harmonious Biel Lake landscape near Ligerz.

The railway adventure of the Bernese Oberland - Off-topic, since the JS G 3/3 No. 6 is still under revision and the railways of the Bernese Oberland region were electrified early on, steam operation was also present, and how! After steam operation was prohibited during the summer due to forest fire risk, the HG 3/4 No. 3 of the Blonay-Chamby Railway now shows with a magnificent steam plume what was long thought impossible. The HG 3/4 3 is in the Baye de Clarens gorge on the way from Blonay to Chaulin.

Major action day at SNCF: This holiday weekend, numerous passengers want to travel to the Alps for their winter sports holidays or are already heading back home. For this reason, I went to Saint-Gervais-des-Bains-Le Fayet to watch the TGV holiday traffic there. Right upon arrival, the first TGV appears: TGV set 864 departs Saint-Gervais-les-Bains-Le Fayet (departure 10:23) as TGV 794 to Nantes (arrival 19:27). On its long journey, the TGV stops at Sallanches-Combloux-Megève (10:28/10:32) and Cluse (Haute-Savoie) (10:43/10:48), then only again at Massy-TGV (16:20/16:26), Le Mans (17:16/17:23), and Rennes (18:06/18:12), and most likely runs via La Roche sur Foron - Annecy.
On the left in the picture is an SNCF TMR Z 850 / BDeh 4/8, parked here waiting for its next deployment.

"Foreign" signals and overhead lines quickly give it away, this SBB LEX RABe 522 was not photographed in Switzerland. The SBB LEX RABe 522 223 will leave Annemasse under 25000 volts/50 Hz as RL4 23227 to Coppet, but after just a few hundred meters the power system switches to SBB 15000 volts 16 2/3 Hertz.
