Once a day (and direction), from Monday to Friday, the IR 56 and RE 56 cross at Grenchen Nord, providing not only a colorful scene but also hope that the Pronturter region will not be "cut off" from the rest of Switzerland in the future. The SBB RABe 522 210 as RE 56 4561 from Bonfol to Biel/Bienne crosses at Grenchen Nord with the BLS RABe 528 132, which is traveling as IR 56 1861 from Biel/Bienne to Basel SBB. January 13, 2026 

Due to construction work between Iselle and Domodossola, the BLS RABe 528 operate as R1 hourly (instead of every two hours) from Brig to Iselle. In Iselle, there was then a bus connection to Domodossola. Of photographic interest, however, were the BLS RABe 528 turning around in Iselle, as the next three pictures show. Two BLS RABe 528 are waiting in Iselle for departure to Brig. August 17, 2024 
