The BLS Re 465 002 leaves Spiez station with the GoldenPass Express 4064 from Montreux to Interlaken. Especially in Spiez, where north-south transit freight trains and DB ICE also run, the gauge change wagons reveal their fascination! I had the pleasure of traveling from Montreux to Spiez on the train shown here. The Gauge change process in Zweisimmen was surprisingly disappointing - you hardly noticed anything! That's precisely why I continue to be of the opinion that the ingenious technology should be used more in everyday traffic instead of just in purely tourist traffic, such as Bern - Lenk or Zurich - St. Moritz. The Lötschberger is back in the Bernese Oberland: BLS RABe 535 Lötschberger have been serving the R and RE routes Spiez - Frutigen and Spiez - Interlaken Ost since the timetable change, thus replacing the RBDe 565/566. In the picture: the BLS RABe 535 121 is made available as a regional train to Frutigen in Spiez. Feb 18, 2025
