NIAG 186 142 has deputised ofter in such cases, where a steam train is planned to cross the Dutch-German border at Emmerich.

On 26 May 2019 NS 186 114 hauls ICR stock through Tilburg Oude Warande. Since December 2025 all ICR hauled services have been consigned to the past, ending 150 years of loco haulauge passenger trains in national scheduled services within the Netherlands. Only international trains to and from Belgium and over night trains still are loco haule4d. 
