The two C 5/6 locomotives 2978 and 2969 are on their way from Bellinzona to Bellinzona. The steam train is being re-formed in Göschenen for the onward journey through the Gotthard Tunnel. The two steam locomotives were photographed before the SBB Re 4/4 II 11161 took the lead. Oct. 21, 2017

How times change: a few years ago, I would have turned up my nose and not photographed the ICN passing through Airolo.

The SBB Re 4/4 II 11195 wiht his Gotthard-Paromamic service form Lugano to Flüelen runs out of the Wattiger tunnel.

The SBB Re 460 010 Swiss Tainable is in Airolo with its IC 2 10874 en route from Lugano to Zurich HB.

Since the Gotthard Highway Tunnel, which opened in 1981, needs to be renovated, they have the luxury of building a second tube during the renovation.

The Railpool 186 497 has arrived in Airolo with its block freight train consisting of Sggrrs S 204 double wagons.

The SOB RABe 526 216 as IR 26 2320 from Locarno to Basel SBB has reached the snowy Airolo.

The Re 460 010 Swiss Tainable is in Airolo with its IC 2 10874 on the way from Lugano to Zurich HB.
