März 2026
This month's uploads are characterized by a strong focus on Alexandria's tram system, with multiple images and detailed notes on ex-Copenhagen vehicles, their layered paintwork, and the uncertain future of tram operations in the city. Dutch rail operations feature prominently, especially in the Arnhem and Tilburg regions, highlighting various NS units (including 1700, 2200, and 7600 series) and Arriva services, as well as the transition from Breng to Rrreis/Arriva livery. Several images document German diesel locomotives of class 218 in northern Germany, alongside Sylt-shuttle operations from Niebüll. The weather motif recurs, with references to rainy and grey conditions, particularly in the Netherlands and Germany. Cross-border and international rail traffic is visible with CapTrain, DB, SNCF, and SBB trains, including engineering and freight services, and French regional operations around Strasbourg and the Côte d'Azur. Scenic shots are included, such as trains near Chillon Castle, Bourscheid Castle, and Cefalù, often emphasizing infrastructure details like narrow platforms or recently rebuilt stations. Overall, the month is marked by a blend of urban tramway documentation, Dutch and German regional rail activity, and a selection of picturesque European mainline scenes. On 15 July 2019 NS 1745 couples to an IC-Berlijn that has just been brought into Bad Bentheim by a sister loco. Due to an acident on the tracks between Bad Bentheim and Osnabrück, further traffic into Germany was impossible for hours. Since the trains to AND from the Netherlands meet within a time span of 25 minutes, the set that entered Bad bentheim from Amsterdam could easily be deployed onto the back leap.
