Class ME 26 were the less-than-succesfull Norwegian NSB Class Di.6, twelve of which were delivered to NSB in 1998. After two years of constant failures NSB revoked the contract with the builder, Siemens, and received their moneys back. Siemens immideatelt decided to sell her Diesel locomotive production capacities to MaK after the Norwegian debacle.
