60 years of the BoBo / Re 4/4 II – to mark the occasion, the Austrian Federal Railways (OeBB) organized an unprecedented Re 4/4 reunion. Among those invited were the Re 4/4 I, BLS Ae 4/4 and Re 4/4 (425), Re 450, and even the RhB narrow-gauge locomotive Ge 613. I only attended the magnificent celebration peripherally and in a short space of time, so I can only show a few pictures here. On the right, the RhB Ge 4/4 II 613; on the left, the scheduled regional train Oensingen - Balsthal, tarted up and arriving by the OeBB. Balsthal, September 14, 2024

The beautiful Lima RBe 4/4 1435 railcar, which I finally acquired after many years, is really very nice, and I got a lot for my money, as the railcar seems to be somewhat lavishly constructed, probably 1:140 or so. Well, that's not really a criticism*, but rather a side topic... *otherwise, I could have bought the Piko RBe 4/4. 29.04.2025

My U36B Santa Fe ATSF 353 runs quite well, but the running noise after fifteen years of inactivity made me think that it might not be impossible for the locomotive to break down on the track with a transmission failure. Then I'd have a suitable layout, but no locomotive. To prevent this from happening, New Haven (NH) ALCO RS1 0667 rushed to the rescue from the far north and is now supporting Santa Fe No. 353. April 18, 2025

Something different: in addition to the recently acquired Lima N-gauge RBe 4/4 1435, I've owned an N-scale model of the U36B Santa Fe ATSF 353 diesel locomotive with three cars for many years. Reason enough to showcase the vehicles. The idea is to build a (divided) fairly small model railway for the existing vehicles instead of a diorama. Since technical clarifications regarding the overhead line for the Swiss section still need to be finalized, I began by interpreting a small station located somewhere between Canada and Mexico. For this, I can draw on a few old prototype photos from a trip to Florida. Of course, the design is a challenge in terms of space. At least I can show the first pictures. The palm tree is home-made, as is the loading ramp (still under construction). The vehicles are from Bachmann (made in China), and the tracks are from Lima, Roco, and Fleischmann (made in Italy, Germany, Austria, and Romania). April 14, 2025

In probably her last year in service on the ytracks between Ceske Budejovice and Jihlava, CD 242 248 enters Jihlava with a fast train from Ceske Budejovice to Brno hl.n. on 29 May 2025 -Jihlava however is the terminus of the loco since the last leap to Brno will be Diesel hauled by a Class 754.
