I was now able to make up for the trip that was postponed in mid-December due to weather reasons (danger of landslides) and so the “last trip to Italy in 2023” has become the “first trip to Italy in the new year 2024”. It should be noted that the trip to Italy was more than short at just over 50 minutes... Long story short: through a fence loophole in Iselle I was able to use my old camera to shoot the BLS Re 4/4 194 with its AT3 ( Birg - Iselle car tunnel) and also include part of the Iselle reception building in the left part of the picture. Despite the blue sky, which here is only overexposed pink, the sun doesn't seem to find its way into the deep valley at this time of year. January 3, 2024

Sono riuscito a recuperare il viaggio che era stato posticipato a metà dicembre per motivi meteorologici (pericolo di frane) e così il "ultimo viaggio in Italia nel 2023" è diventato il "primo viaggio in Italia nel nuovo anno 2024". Va notato che il "viaggio in Italia" è stato più che breve, poco più di 50 minuti... Per farla breve: attraverso una feritoia nella recinzione a Iselle sono riuscito a usare la mia vecchia macchina fotografica per scattare la BLS Re 4/4 194 con il suo AT3 (tunnel auto Birg - Iselle) e includere anche parte dell'edificio di ricezione di Iselle nella parte sinistra dell'immagine. Nonostante il cielo azzurro, che qui appare solo come un rosa sovraesposto, il sole sembra non riuscire a penetrare nella valle profonda in questo periodo dell'anno. 3 gennaio 2024 

This picture from Vevey “only” shows one SBB Flirt, namely the SBB REV RABe 523 015-1. What is interesting, however, is the route of the RE 3558: from Fribourg to Le Chable (-Verbier) via the Train de Vignes route. The train runs on Saturdays and public holidays during the winter season.

Questa foto da Vevey mostra "solo" un Flirt SBB, precisamente il SBB REV RABe 523 015-1. Ciò che è interessante, però, è il percorso del RE 3558: da Friburgo a Le Châble (-Verbier) tramite la linea Train de Vignes. Il treno circola il sabato e nei giorni festivi durante la stagione invernale. 2 gennaio 2024 

My last picture that I'll post on rail-pictures.com this year and it's actually quite fitting. The IRSI/IGE Re 4/4 II 11387 (Re 421 387-2) is waiting with its ZRT New Year's Eve train in the style of the Belle Epoque in Lausanne for its departure to Frankfurt am Main HBF. It's been some time since I was able to photograph a Re 4/4 II in front of a passenger train in Lausanne. Since the locomotive will remain on the train until Frankfurt and will return to Lausanne on January 1st, 2024.

La IRSI/IGE Re 4/4 II 11387 (Re 421 387-2) sta aspettando con il suo treno di Capodanno ZRT in stile Belle Époque a Losanna per la partenza verso Francoforte sul Meno HBF. È passato un po' di tempo da quando ho potuto fotografare una Re 4/4 II davanti a un treno passeggeri a Losanna. Poiché la locomotiva rimarrà sul treno fino a Francoforte e tornerà a Losanna il 1° gennaio 2024. 30 dicembre 2023 
