On 1 September 2014 NS 2142 passes through Alverna.

One of the few remaining loco hauled services is the RE22 between Lübeck Hbf and Bad Kleinen, albeit, that even here 2/3 of the trains are DMU now -meaning Class 218 is here on the decline too.

DR, S-Bahn and freight in one go: Delta Rail uses some former DR 243, DB 143 locos in older paintings in freight traffic. In the very last strays of twilight on 19 February 2026 DR 143 175 carrying a quasi retro S-Bahn livery passes through Hamburg Harburg. 
